Rizal Ashwam spent his childhood living in numerous cities nationally and internationally including the historically renowned Mesopotamian City of Baghdad, Iraq, where he had enjoyed three years of middle school education among various international students, to become a part of one fascinating journey having a military as well as a diplomat father. The contemplation to serve in the military world was the reason why he had decided to alter his further learning institution from Perth Institute Business and Technology, Australlia, ensued to be enrolled into The Norwich University, also called as The Military College of Vermont, USA, in the company of the other 15 recipient of the Indonesian Army undergraduate program scholarship.
Further to completing his Economics studies along with a minor in Management degree earning the Cum Laude honor, he was trained to be a military officer in the 7 months long basic officer course of The Primary Military Career Officer School later graduated as an Infantry 2^nd^ Lt in 2001. His military career has been passing through several appointments entrusted. He commenced by earning the title of a Platoon Leader, commanding several different platoon units of the 502^nd^ Airborne Infantry Battalion, during when he had taken part, for a full year period, in a National Security Safekeeping Military Operation against the Aceh Freedom Movement.
Afterward, promoted to become the Military Intelligence Staff Officer in the same unit. It was within the period, in 2007, he earned the privilege to wear another advance rank of Captain. It has been six months, serving as a peacekeeper in South Lebanon, deploying with the company of the 200 Indonesian Special Forces personnel to organize and secure the UNIFIL headquarters, seating as the Force Headquarter Support Unit Camp Quarter Master. He enjoys reading and learning the world of Mass Communication and Journalism, which conceivably be one of his alternative preferred careers in the future.
