Major Nana SETIAWAN was born in Karawang, West Java on 25 June 1972. Married with 2 children. Graduated from the Indonesian Air Force Academy in 1996. Undergone several training; Parachute Deployment in 1994, Combat freefall in 1998, Kopassus’ Commando TNI AD in 1999 within Bravo Detachment, and Special Force of Indonesian Air Force in Margahayu, Bandung. Concluded several mission assignments namely in Aceh, East Timor, followed by BAIS Task Force in Java and Task Force with INTERFET (International Force in East Timor) in 1999, Major Nana Setiawan participated the VVIP task force for Presidential Guard in 2003.

Apart from intensive of domestic military training, Major Nana Setiawan undertook an Anti-Terror training in South Korea in 2004. Following service as VVIP Task Force, subsequently appointed as member of the current presidential guard till 2005. Further to career development, in 2005 enrolled to the Junior Staff College Course in Halim, Jakarta. Shortly after the course, reassigned to join the VVIP Task Force as Vice-Presidential Guard assuming a post as Vice Commabder of Installation Security Group B based in Tanah Abang – Central Jakarta. Concluding a 2-years of service in the VVIP Task Force, Major Nana Setiawan further expand his military career by undertaking his initial overseas assignment under the United Nations by joining UNMIS (United Nations Mission in Sudan) as UN’s Military Observer. Arrive in Khartoum, Sudan on 4 September 2008, Major Nana Setiawan will further sharing news and updates from Sudan.
