Imelda TJAHJA

Malakal family

16 November 2007, 10:12 , by Imelda TJAHJA

Dear Friends,

How are you?… It’s time to get to know more about local life style & condition in Malakal…

I was invited to my local colleague’s house the other day to meet his family. He has 5 kids & they are all ‘small-small’ :)))

The youngest one is a girl, she is very cute! I was trying to hold her but she was crying. His house is big, it’s made by clay though considering bricks & cement are very expensive here! I took some pictures of them, please see attached just so you know more about local life in Malakal, Southern Sudan!

By the way, I also took picture of the food which we had at local restaurant the other night, it was total SDG 20 including 3 soft drinks for myself & 2 other colleagues. It was not bad, was it?… My local colleagues also took me to have some tea & ginger which sold by a woman in front of local store in Malakal market downtown during evening. It was the first time for me to hang out & have ‘normal’ social life in Malakal. It was fun, I enjoyed it! I told my colleagues to do this kind of activity at least once a month to get healthy life in Malakal.

Cheers,
 Imelda
